Event Planning At Home – Tips You Can Do The Day Before Thanks Giving
Thanksgiving Day can get pretty crazy and busy with your family and friends hanging out in the kitchen and wanted to visit. Here is a list of things you can do the day before Thanksgiving that will help you save some time on the Holiday.
Stuffing
After mixing your favorite stuffing; wrap it in plastic and put it in your fridge. It will be ready for stuffing your bird or baking Thanksgiving Day.
Pie
Cooking your pies the day before lets the dessert to fully cool and allows the juices in the pie to thicken and reabsorb. If you really must have your pie warm, let it cool uncovered. A few minutes before you want to serve it on Thanksgiving, put it back in a warm oven for 20 minutes or so. The juices will stay thickened, but the pie will be warm, giving you the best of both worlds.
Gravy
To do this; buy turkey stock at one of your local stores. Use this to make your gravy. Once the mixture is cooled, put it in a sealed container ready for the next day to warm up on the stove or in a slow cooker or “instant pot”.
Mashed Potatoes
Mash and season your potatoes the day before, then put them in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. Reheat by putting them in a slow cooker or saucepan over low heat and mixing in more warm milk and butter — the added liquid will make them extra luscious, smooth, and flavorful.
Table Setting
If you have the room, set the table the day before Thanksgiving. This will save you a headache on the day-of. If your kitchen area is spacious enough, get your serving dishes out that you will be using making sure you know what will go in each. This will also help you save some time.
Happy preparing for Thanksgiving.
