Wedding Receptions San Diego - How To Make Your Feel Special on Your Wedding Day

Ranch Events would like to share some unique ideas on how to celebrate dads on the “big day”, for a son’s or daughter’s wedding.   Many dads are one of the most significant role models most children will have in their life, and a wedding is an important day for fathers. Here are some suggestions to make your dad feel special:

Thank your dad before you walk down the aisle. For a father, walking his daughter down the aisle can be both the scariest and happiest moments of his life. Before you make your big appearance, thank him and make sure he knows how important he is to you. If you have time in the morning, you can even do a “first look”. For the sons a conversation just between you and your father thanking him for molding you, guiding you and making you the man you are today. A hand-written letter explaining how much he means to you is also a wonderful way in showing dads what an important role he has played throughout your life.

Dance to your dad’s favorite song! For brides; the father-daughter wedding dance is a special tradition. The dance can be personalized by dancing to one of dad’s favorite songs. He not only will be smiling to have his little girl in his arms, but he will be grooving with his best moves.

Ask your dad to read something special during the ceremony. Fathers typically give a toast during the reception, but incorporating him into the ceremony will make him feel like he has a bigger role on your special day. He won’t say no!

Wear something that belongs to your dad. People always hear about brides wearing their mother’s wedding gown. Rarely do you ever hear about brides or grooms wearing something of their dads. Whether it is a piece of jewelry or the pattern of his favorite tie, fathers will feel special if you incorporate something of theirs into your wedding day.

Don’t be afraid to ask for your dad’s opinion. When it comes to planning the big day, make sure your father knows his voice will be heard and that what he thinks matters too!

Cheers to all of the fathers out there! You are not losing your son or daughter, but you are gaining another family member.
